^^good for you for sticking it out. I didn't figure out until quite late that due to my short attention span (I had to really teach myself discipline) that I had to keep switching how the information actually got in: Visuals- 2d and 3d -diagrams/real pics- (like dissection pics & videos) Auditory- s...

I just thought of something interesting, what about blogs ? A blog is nothing more than peoples thoughts and opinions on any given subject, product or service. And since you should have a Wordpress blog about massage with a link to your site , you should also have a link from your site to the blog....

I can tell you from doing research for a non-profit, your therapists do not have to volunteer to work for free - but they must provide a service to the community for free. It may be this misunderstanding that most of us have that discourages people from becoming a non-profit and doing "volunteer" w...

I never can remember -- is this just straight testing of muscles for strength/tone/ROM, or is it that one where the practitioner claims to figure out what you're allergic to/what foods you need to eat etc? I had no idea what "applied kinesiology" was until recently- nor it's "unique interpretation"...

I agree Julie...the person's awareness has a ton to do with it. I think too in our society a lot of Americans have been preached to in regards to the 'no pain, no gain' mentality and they bring that right into the treatment room, is that your experience as well? Today I had a client come in for his...

I was asked about going into another room next time by another teacher and I will do that next time. You response is wonderful, too. People are great here, I heart you all! The advice is well taken, and yes, there is the young drame, things I can hardly believe, but they don't get it yet. I was a p...

Oh dear- what a situation. :( Can you give the school a deadline to give you some answers, then follow them up by contacting them immediately on that date? Make it a point of customer satisfaction like the others have mentioned. On a personal note-I know it's hard with your other issues- I'm twice t...

U-tube is a great thing

I was just tipped off to the fact that Berkley UC has anatomy classes on u tube! (Integrative biology 131) The teacher is absolutely fabulous: Professor Marion Diamond. http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=9A701D54E8896D0E If you don't already record your classes, this will do for a replacement. ...

Hey guys, When I was still in school, I asked my mentor how she worked with the feet, and she told me that what she does, is she takes warm towels (sometimes with peppermint EO's) and wraps it around there feet in the beginning. She would work the upper part of the body and work her way down until ...

I think you may be right about Ontario's regulations. So maybe the next step could be, to contact a program that looks interesting, and ask them directly about their own training, experiences, affiliations, etc. Are you a "human" massage therapist looking to expand? Or are animals your sole focus? ...

Re: First time MT w/no self confidence

I specialized in Shiatsu/eastern work in school and that is what I'm going to be offering at the center. My classmates never felt I was going deep enough during Swedish sessions and I've had a lot of problems with ulnar neuropathy in both arms. I'm sure it's due to tight scalenes, but trying tools ...
