Re: Visions/Psychic Episodes during Massage or Reiki treatme

perhaps in combination with some drugs or alcohol. never heard of massage visions by know. it's interesting however. Really? Most people I know who do energy work "see" things. I think it's pretty common. As far as clients "seeing" things, if they are in a "theta" state, then it is quite likely to ...

Re: Foreign MT moving into the states

There is no need to get an Associates Degree, it's the HOURS from an accredited school that any state licensing board will look at. A lot of the degree programs were put together solely as a vehicle for the academy or college to make extra money utilizing US federal loan programs and putting the stu...

Re: Hot stones - profressional warmer vs. crock pot vs. roas

In case it helps anyone, I had a massage this past week and the therapist uses a baby bottle warmer like this for just a few rocks, not a whole layout. I have ordered one and am going to try it out. :) The warmer doesn't look big enough to hold stones! Maybe a couple of little ones? When I just wan...

Re: Refunding for GCs

Trust yourself, I would do the refund and just let him know that there is a small service fee. My philosophy is that GC's can always be refunded under the right circumstances. I would prefer that they be USED or transferred to someone else, but things happen. I think most people would not have conta...

Re: Fingerprinting of LMTs now required in Florida

As I see it - it is NOT putting MT's on par with Health Professionals. It is putting them on par with prostitutes and registered sex offenders. There are too many local municipalities that get away with this type of regulation and worse right now. In my state - part of licensure is a police backgrou...

I am sure that you think that this is very helpful.
Thanks for taking the time to post, but I did not see anything that was particularly educational.

Since you are WELL educated, Riggs/Waslaski, trust what you know and continue to do that. I think what some clients and some therapist call deep tissue is just random force and to me feels like heavy handedness and inexperience. I always say "it's precision NOT pressure". Your results will speak for...

no - but many years ago I took a Melting Muscles class for Axis/Atlas release.

It actually led to my interest in CranioSacral Therapy.

I don't know if it's the same or similar modality - but would prabably be worth checking out.

Re: Pediatric Massage Opportunity (severe disabilities)

This might be a great learning opportunity for you! I know many therapists end up working on the children of their clients to start and that sparks an interest in furthering their work. The only person who I know personally that works with young children with disabilities is a CranioSacral Therapist.
