crying newborn

Postby HumanRemodeling on Mon Jun 22, 2009 7:25 pm

Do you know anything for making 1-month old born-premature baby stop crying.

The baby cries non-stop, 24/7, and seems to be in pain with her tummy, it is hard and it is difficult to even burp her. Mom doesn't have milk so the baby eats special formula without lactose. She seems to sleep only when totally exausted from crying. She twists her entire body, twists the back and her neck, as if in intense pain. Also has some spots on her face. The doctor says it is colic and it is normal and that the spots are some normal thing, but I heard this kid on the phone - she is in PAIN. Something is bothering her.

What relaxes her is the sound of hair drier, sploshing sounds, being carried around, sleeping on her stomach, going in a stroller outside is kinda effective, massaging tummy after bath helps for a while. Otherwise, touching her tummy, or her back, or feet for reflexology makes her scream. Aromatherapy so far was ineffective. Tried gentle baby essential oil from Young Living.

When i talked with her dad over the phone, the baby fell asleep, she likes the rhytm of speech and also a certain energy of love. As soon we paused with negative energy, she woke up.

ANY IDEAS?

Thanks!

This is not uncommon here in Mexico here babies can pick up intestinal parasites. What medical tests have been performed? A simple stool check may reveal the cause.

Could also be neurological. Has she been evaluated for sensory processing disorders?

How is the baby getting along? Hopefully, doing better...

Kiola-Care or Slinging - wearing your baby can be one of the best ways to soothe a fussy newborn. Of any age. Mom might try to relactate (see Kelly Mom website for information about that) because breatmilk can also help soothe a fussy baby and the act of nursing is naturally soothing.
